Poker - holdem indicator special offer

Playing poker online is very different from playing in person. The human interaction and observation is not available online like it is in person.

But there are still ways to gain the advantage playing online poker! I will try and walk you through some tips and strategies that I and others use to consistently make extra money playing poker online. I am not going to go into detailed strategies. This strategy guide assumes you already know how to play but need to gain an advantage online. Here are my Online Poker Strategies:

Online Poker Strategies:

  • Picking the table
  • Playing smart
  • online tells

Picking the Table: When trying to win online poker consistently you need to be smart about who you are playing. This strategy for winning at online poker has you looking for lose tables, both pre-flop and post-flop. There can be thousands of games going at any one time so be patient and look for one that meets the right conditions. Generally if you get into the higher stakes tables you will be playing good players who won't make a lot of mistakes. Also avoid the aggressive player that continually requires you to put in a lot of money up front with your better hands to continue. Even with great hands there is still too little information to know you have the advantage.

So to conclude on picking the table, look for lower stakes, No Limit tables without aggressive players. You can usually tell before entering a table if there are aggressive players as the number of hands played is generally very high with the early folding but you often have to sit at the table a while to assess these things. Also remember you don't have to stay at the table if the conditions aren't right. Move on if there is some wing nut raising the pot pre-flop every time.

What you are looking for when trying to consistently win online are lose tables, both pre-flop and post-flop. When trying to win online poker consistently you need to be smart about who you are playing.

Playing Smart: The premise of my strategy is to cash in big on great hands and avoid mistakes with middle of the road hands. You do not want to put money in the pot when you are behind. Period! So like many strategies online you are looking for good starting hands before you get carried away. Basically only go in when you have pocket pairs, decent sized connectors or one-gaps and good suited cards. Otherwise don't get to involved in a hand unless you can limp in.

If you have a chance to limp in with decent cards by all means get involved and look for the nuts on the flop but if you don't hit it get out if there is some active betting. Again what we are trying to do is lose as little money as possible before we get a hand that is the nuts. You want to see as many flops as possible with this strategy, this differs from how you would play at the World Series of Poker but we aren't there are we, we are trying to bilk some money out of poker players that do not know how to play the game for the most part. In a nice way of course. They have to learn their lessons like everybody else.

You will end up folding a lot with this strategy but we do not want to invest too much money up front in hands that are behind. We want to win big post and lose the small ones.

After the flop I utilize the Holdem Indicator tool to do a lot of my thinking for me. Holdem Indicator instantly calculates accurate win odds, pot odds, outs, and table position. Shows EV and Sklansky Group ratings for your hole cards. You will know whether you should make the call, raise or fold. You can do all of these calculations in your head (see an easy way to do this at CardPlayer.com) but if you are more inclined to have it calculated for you (highly recommended given time constraints) then download your free Holdem Indicator here.

Online Tells:

You can't exactly look into someone's eyes when playing online poker, nor can you see sweat beads forming on their head. All of the visual tells are absent when playing online poker. My poker strategy online is as above but I do look at player tells and the way the players play.

First of all I immediately fire up Holdem Indicator to track how players are playing. If you end up sitting at a table for a while this kind of information is invaluable. Holdem Indicator will tell you who is tight and who is loose. If the Player or Opponent stats show that a player rarely sees the flop and this player suddenly raises before the flop I would worry. All this is tracked with Holdem Indicator and again when sitting awhile at a table it is invaluable information because you will know who is loose and who is tight and play them accordingly. If interested in this tool free you can download it at Holdem Indicator for free.

Some common tells are the following:

  • Quick to respond (quick check for example) - can indicate a weak hand.
  • Slowness to respond - a pause before a check can indcate weakness. A pause with a riase can often mean strength
  • Automatic play - this is hitting the buttons before it is your turn. Watch for players that do this and when they suddenly don't automatically check. Dont do this yourself! When you see a player automatically check or check/fold that usually means they have a weak hand. They are just waiting to fold. When they don't use a check box they have a better hand and are thinking about the bet.
  • if a player automatically has "Call Any" checked he likely has a good hand.

That is about it for the strategies. Again you should already have the basic Holdem Strategies down before using these tips but if applied properly and you play mistake free you will make money.

I hope this helps you out in your future games of Online Holdem.
